John O’Neil

John O’Neil, CPA, joined eFFECTOR as Corporate Controller in May 2021, while we were still private. He was promoted to Vice President of Finance in January 2023. Prior to joining eFFECTOR, Mr. O’Neil served as an Accounting Director at van den Boom & Associates where he worked in a consulting capacity for numerous private and public biotech companies, including the part-time support of eFFECTOR for five years prior to joining on a full-time basis. Mr. O’Neil started his career with Ernst & Young in the San Diego assurance practice where he audited private and public companies in a variety of different industries, include biotech, tech and real estate. Mr. O’Neil has over 13 years of experience in accounting and finance, mostly within the biotech and clinical research industry. Mr. O’Neil is a Certified Public Accountant (active) in the state of California and received his B.S. in Accounting from the University of San Diego.
